With more than 300 exhibitors, the fairs organized and promoted by Francal received more than 36 thousand visitors, including shopkeepers, buyers, decorators, cake designers, and many others.
According to Lúcia Cristina de Buone, business manager of Francal Feiras, the year 2018 was a milestone. "Even with the truckers’ strike, our exhibitors, speakers and technical staff overcame the setbacks and found clever alternatives to maintain the same quality of events as previous editions. This is proof that determination can overcome barriers," the manager said.
Among successful examples, which demonstrated the positive balance of the fairs, were the indicatives reached with the Rodadas de Negócio ("Business Rounds"), which took place on June 1, the opening day of the events. The initiative, which brought together exhibitors and buyers from various parts of Brazil, managed to generate more than BRL 4 million in business expectation.
Expo Parques & Festas
The 2018 edition of Expo Parques e Festas - International Attractions & Parties Expo, brought lots of news and a number of launches for the attending sectors.
According to Jekson Oliveira, director of Rostinho Pintado, one of the companies participating in the fair, Expo Parques e Festas exceeded all expectations. "Despite the uncertainties and the fear of a strike that the country has faced in the last 15 days, we had a good surprise. The first day of the fair was atypical, we received a lot of visitors and discovered that we have a very loyal audience. The people came, bought and appreciated us. We were very happy with the results," he said.
The only fair dedicated to promoting the Christmas market business, the 9th Natal Show, Christmas Articles, Decoration and Gifts Fair, had an assertive result in 2018.
The realization of Natal Talks ("Christmas Talks"), a series of free lectures and debates with leading experts in the market, which addressed topics of interest to professionals in the segment such as decoration, tourism, new technologies, and other topics.
"The fair was a success both in terms of attendance and business. We were able to accomplish beyond what we anticipated due to last week’s events. The customers are excited and ready for a very nice Christmas in 2018," celebrated Eduardo Cincinato, an employee of Cromus, one of the exhibiting companies.
Paulo Streck, from IM Streck Importação, another exhibitor at Natal Show, highlighted the joint effort among the participating companies and the organization of the fair. "It surprised me a lot, considering everything that happened before the event. This was an effective work among exhibitors and the organization, who mobilized with us to the end," he said.
Parallel to Natal Show, ExpoCatólica, the largest South American meeting for the religious articles market, brought together a large number of buyers, manufacturers and wholesalers from all over the country.
Candy & Cake Show
The 5th edition of Candy & Cake Show, Sweets, Confectionery and Snacks Salon, attracted everyone, not only for the novelties presented by exhibitors, but also for the high level of professionals who participated in the specific contests and events of the fair.
During the event, the Top Cakes contest was held, which was organized by the cake designer and sugar artist association (Associação de Cakes Designers e Artistas do Açúcar, ACADAA), which was attended by several confectioners, who spared no effort to present their work in a glamorous way.
The winner, Suenia Marques, from Fortaleza (CE), received the award from the hands of Italian cake designer Kristina Rado. As part of the award, Suenia will compete in the Cake Designers World Championship FIPGC 2019 in Italy, in October next year. Jussara Palma, from Rio Grande do Sul, and Francielle Campana, from São Paulo, took the second and third place, respectively.
In the Copa Cake ("Cake Cup"), a competition created with the proposal to unveil new talents in the cake design segment, was won by young confectioner Guilherme Postigo, only 17 years old.
Finally, the Oficinas de Confeitarias ("Confectionery Workshops"), a set of lectures and workshops with professionals in the market, in addition to the professional hands-on and theory courses from Sweet Academy, had a record membership this year, with more than 130 hours of shared content.
For 2019, the fairs Expo Parques e Festas, Natal Show, Candy & Cake Show and ExpoCatólica already have their date and place confirmed. They will take place from May 31 to June 3 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo.
