From 10 to 13 June 2015 at Ibirapuera-Park the focus was once again entirely on all organic and natural products. This year, the 11th BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair, one of the largest Brazilian fairs covering this segment, presented 122 organic companies, including exhibitors from Italy and Bolivia. 17,669 national and international trade visitors along with consumers informed themselves about trends and tried-and-tested organic products. In addition to the product show, the BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair presented a theme forum as well as organized Business Meetings, which were also well attended.
“The BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair is Brazil’s leading fair in the organic sector. I am very satisfied with the course of the event in 2015. The main target of NürnbergMesse Brasil and our partner Francal Feiras is to make BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair an even more international event. Our long-standing cooperation provides the first prerequisite for achieving this goal in the medium term and for further promoting the good development of the Brazilian organic market through our event”, declared Ligia Amorim, Managing Director NürnbergMesse Brasil.
Abdala Jamil Abdala, Managing Director Francal Feiras, also gave a positive assessment: “The BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair is the ideal platform for fruitful relations between organic suppliers, the retail trade and end-consumers. An increasing number of companies are recognizing the consumers’ health awareness and expanding their product Satisfied exhibitors and visitors Closing Report – July 2015 Page 2/3 range accordingly. We are on the right path with organic but I still see further potential.”
Specialist forum and Business Meetings well received
One highlight of the BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair 2015 was the theme forum on organic and sustainable agriculture (International Agriculture Organic and Sustainable Forum), which was held on the first two days of the fair. The participants included representatives from IFOAM – Organics International, patron of BIOFACH, as well as certification
experts. On day one numerous presentations covering the Brazilian organic market and the production of organic foods were on the agenda. The keynote, which Rogério Dias, coordinator of the organic agriculture sector within the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, delivered on the Brasilian market, enthused the listeners here in particular. The international organic market was examined in detail among others by Peter Grosch, Managing Director BCS América do Sul, and Luca Giove, Project Assistant Bioagricoop, from Italy. “For me, the BIOFACH AMERICA LATINA – Bio Brazil Fair 2015 was the ideal opportunity to make new promising contacts and get to know the South American organic market better. My participation as a speaker was also worthwhile. Thanks to the lively exchange in the forum, Bioagricoop understands the Brazilian consumers even better. Their increasing interest in environmental protection, organic farming and sustainable development impresses me greatly”, said Luca Giove, in summing up his positive impressions. On the
second day the visitors were then able to participate in exciting discussions on current sector themes, for example quality seals and organic products and also on the future of organic products worldwide.
In two days, in the organized Business Meetings, 20 buyers came together with 91 dealers and retailers. During the fair
alone, the total of 265 discussions led to business deals worth a total of over 45,000 US Dollars. The participants assessed the post-show business as very promising.
